Forgive me if these have been answered a thousand before or if they are no-brainers. Do people use their AB to prime, if so what do you use as a primer? on the opposite and of the project can one use Minwax stain? Thanks in advance. |

Yes. There are many many primers that will work. Vallejo is popular. Just make to thin it adequately |

Yes, I use Badger's Stynelrez primer, which leaves a very nice matte finish. Some primers have a tendencies to leave a satin finish, which depending on what your finished mini colors are supposed to be, may work for you. I don't shoot non-acrylic mediums through my ABs and I've had success shooting Future floor finish and getting similar effects to the Minwax stains. If you're looking to better use your AB, get on youtube and search airbrush and enjoy! The people on there do amazing stuff with their ABs, albeit, not stuff you may need, but it never hurts to look! |

I currently use Badger's Stynelrez primer line as well. They have some multitone packs if you wanted to experiment with different base colors. link |

I prime with Liquitex Gesso (white, black, or grey) thinned with Liquitex Airbrush Medium about 1:1. Have used Future to make magic wash and airbrushed it. Have not used Minwax stain. |

Priming figures with an airbrush will give the figures a very fine layer of primer that will not obscure detail as much as using spray can primer. Vallejo primers are very nice used in an airbrush. Just let them thoroughly dry. Like as in days worth of drying time. (Or it can/will scrape/rub off quite easily.) |
