"Libya is vital to America's safety and security, but that African nation gets little attention from the press or the public. With the Trump administration's new initiatives there, that may suddenly change. If Libya collapses into chaos, then prices at the pump will quickly climb. Higher energy costs would push up food prices, kill job creation and slow the U.S. economy. Libya, a longtime member of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, has the tenth largest proven oil reserves in the world and the largest in Africa. Libya's continued oil production is essential for keeping world oil supplies up and prices down…" Main page link Amicalement Armand |

If Libya collapses into chaos, Too late, Libya has been in chaos since we helped take out Gaddafi. What a disgrace. An example of the worst kind of foreign interference. Absolutely no reason to go after Gaddafi; there should be an investigation and people held accountable for their criminal actions. |

Libya is about as vital to US defense as Ukraine is, e.g. reading about zero on a scale of one to ten. America is now a net oil/energy exporter, so is energy self-sufficient. Any cuts in Libyan oil exports will have little effect on the USA, though obviously there will be a price rise due to speculators in the marketplace. Europe and other oil importers like Japan will be more directly impacted. |

Libya is about as vital to US defense as Ukraine is, e.g. reading about zero on a scale of one to ten. Yeah, in spite of the best efforts of certain people testifying at the Senate impeachment hearings to convince us otherwise. |
