Got this from my girlfriend because she knows I am starting to wargame in the Napoleonic era. My favorite gaming/conflict period is WW II. I never red a 100% dedicated book about Bonaparte and holding this "fatty" biography in my hands is kind of scary lol. So, by the time I conclude the book I will_________________________________________. Complete the sentence. JCC |

In fact I feel Robert's biography brings a degree of balance to an otherwise too often negatively portrayed historical figure. If his account leans toward lionizing then it's more than off-set by a British tendency to denigrate even to this day. Well worth the read but if you want a fuller picture, don't stop at one account. |
