There are a number of things that apparently the authors of the article still dont know.

As one example James "Johnnie" Johnson was NOT the leading allied ace of the war. That honor belongs to Ivan Kozhedub of the Soviet Union with 66. In fact a number of Russian aces had in excess of 38 kills. Perhaps they authors meant Western allied? Nope. Richard Bong had 40 kills. OK, maybe they meant the Commonwealth? Nope. That honor goes to South African born Marmaduke "Pat" Pattie a South African born pilot also with 40 kills.

Some things apparently the authors didnt know :)
