Very nice. But, I'd hate to have to paint an army's worth. There is a lot of time and effort that looks to have gone into them…. Well done!!!

Skirmish sized games help, and these were given a bit more attention to detail than big units would get! Thanks.

Great work JJ! I have a box of these on preorder. The Victrix Persian renders look even better, we are certainly spoilt for choice…

These are the old Wargames Factory sprues?

Prince Rupert of the Rhine20 Jan 2020 6:07 a.m. PST

I don't think they are the old wargames factory I believe Warlord end up with that stuff.

Bashytubits20 Jan 2020 7:26 a.m. PST

They sure look like the old Wargames Factory Persian which I have, but any plastic Persians are a plus.

JJartist20 Jan 2020 12:00 p.m. PST

These are not the old Wargames Factory Persians at all. They are new and are available on pre-order.
Victrix may be a bit bigger, it will be interesting to evaluate both side by side.

Jeff, I'm quite surprised the the quality of these miniatures. They look pretty good from where I'm sitting.

Are these the figures that are labeled as Vendel plastics on a different site?

JJartist20 Jan 2020 1:30 p.m. PST

These are not Vendel plastics.

The sculpts and painting look great to me.

Thanks for the comparison photos, that one archer does look like the Vendel figure and vice versa.

JJartist22 Jan 2020 11:49 a.m. PST

These figures have no association with Vendel.

They are smaller in size. Vendel's are metal, and much stockier. I would say they are not compatible within the same units. Separate units will probably work, maybe with smaller figures given thicker bases.

How do these stack up sizewise? They are very compatible with my collection. Foundry and Old Glory fit well along with my older Newline figures. Victrix will mix well. Only Vendel- the giant outliers will (as always) be relegated to their own massively sized units. 1st Corps are smaller and really 25mm so they are not really compatible.

These sculpts are very nicely proportioned, so side-by-side the metal figures will always look chunky. These Persian heads and hands are in scale, and make a lot of metal figures look fat, ham handed, and pumpkin headed.
