They are well done in construction and painting. But inaccurate. The Church, like others previously done in resin, and by Renendra, has a front vestibule that is virtually unknown in American churches of the 18th and early 19th century.
The windows are arched, which is very rare at the time, and seen mostly is large, brick churches in cities. The steeple would have been either place on the peak of the roof, or as part of a tower attached to the front of the church. Indeed, many early churches, look like big houses, and were in fact called "Meeting Houses" at the time. No steeples. No stained glass. No crosses.
Such a barn might be seen, but in the 18th century, English barns had their doors on the long side. Dutch barns were on the gable side, but were not shaped like the one shown.
Yes, I know I'm kinda cranky about this. When I got into
AWI, I started noticing that many churches deemed "colonial" were post war rebuilds, or actually modern. I started to pay more attention. It helps to have grown up on LI and live in NJ.
Same thing with the barns.
All of this makes me wonder how far off wargame terrain is for European battles.
