@Dentatus: I have to ask … The reddish building: is that a junction box?

Yes. Straight outta Home Depot

Junction boxes make great buildings, and they're more durable than mushroom packages.

A nice AAR and a great looking battlefield. Can't wait to get the rules!

Thought so … we don't seem to have any such cool junction/gang boxes over here (least none that I've found, and I'm always looking). Mainly pretty plain rectangular or circular ones.

I have Zona Alfa on preorder.

Denatus I was wondering if you could make a list of potential manufacturers for miniatures and some of your terrain items? Any of the solidly Soviet looking stuff like trucks, cars, helicopters and AFVs.

It is a shame there isn't a plastic Zona Alfa sprue with all the weapon possibilities on it. I was going to kit bash from a variety of sources.

@Dentatus: All of your pics look amazing.

I've honestly tried to find similar gang boxes in UK and Germany and just come up blank. If still possible, could you maybe post a link to the exact HD product you used for building 13? I'm thinking it's a Carlon?

And I continue to be amazed that makers of these things never think to tap the hobby market.

Off the top of my head, for 28mm, there's Lead Adventure Miniatures, (see the great photos in the rulebook) Pig Iron Productions, and Anvil Industries. All great.

Modern Military miniatures: I'm a big fan of The Assault Group. Love their miniatures. Then you've got Empress Miniatures, Spectre Miniatures, (I'd like to get some of their GRU Russians) Footsore USA, Tiny Terrain, Eureka – - .

Again, I'm going with the Eastern European flavor. But really, you can slot in and re-purpose any figs you have and make your own Zone. Zona Alfa is a tool box, not a straitjacket.

I'm less familiar with smaller scales, but know that both Khurasan and Peter Pig have great 15mm Soviet-style figs and vehicles. Then there's 1/72nd stuff…

I'm sure other companies will come to mind, plus ones I've forgotten to mention. Forgive me for not having that info on tap.

Regarding vehicles, please understand ZA is a small scale skirmish game – combat between individual soldiers. Vehicles tend to be objectives or terrain.

That said, there are cheap Chinese diecasts on eBay. And a couple of sellers who specialize in 3D printed Soviet vehicles. A search will being them up.

Bigby Wolf – sorry but I didn't bother with a product number. It was in a bin in the electrical aisle along with dozens of others of various shapes and sizes. It was bright blue and I think it was called a '8-way gang box' or 'junction box'.

You'll have to stalk the online halls of Home Depot yourself for more info.

Yeah, it's like Unicorn poop over here. We don't have Home Depot.

I'm also searching German sites, but it's too expensive.

Probably have to resort to Alibaba or Wish or something.

But excellent terrain, dude. And thanks for taking the time to reply! Appreciate it!
