Did they really offer joy rides on tanks? Seems like the folks on the platform would bounce around a lot unless they were on very flat ground.

A fun diorama in any case.

I suspect that's a real photo reproduced next to the tank. This is the sort of thing that I'd expect from the English after the victory of the First World War.

And many English women rode horses side saddle, so I don't see this as being too jouncy! Motorcars of the period,and terrible dirt roads, were probably far less comfortable. I'm sure they selected nice flat ground for demonstrations! Maybe even city streets in the excitement of victory, much to the dismay of road workers!
