Some month ago, I posted that I was having trouble finding early war US infantry for the Philippines and Wake Island in 28mm. The only figures available were from Pulp Figures. Those are excellent figures, but I wanted to add some variety. Steve Barber approached me about commissioning some figures. Several of us pooled our resources. You can see the results on Steve's Web page. link
Steve recently sent me an Email announcing the completion of the latest figure in this line: the BAR gunner. I will order several of these as soon as they are available on this Web page. Between Steve's figures and Bob Murch's figures, I'll be able to field a nice platoon for Combat Patrol with sufficient variety of poses. I have all the other figures, but with an upcoming move from Maryland to Florida, I haven't had a chance to paint them yet; although, they are filed, primed, and based and in my to-be-painted box.
Look for some pictures of these figures involved in some fighting in the Philippines soon.

A nice niche to fill. I would not label the Thompson pack as a "machine gun" pack. |

If he'll add a 60mm mortar and a MMG I'm in. I'd like to do a Platoon for CoC. |

I'd suggest you reach out to Steve Barber directly via his Web page. You can get the MMG in tin hats from Pulp Figures. I suspect Assault Group has the mortar and some of the riflemen could be converted easily to mortar men. |

Nice looking figures. Would there be a difference between Army and Marine uniforms, or can same figure be used for both? |

Yes, these figures can be used for both Marines is Summer Service Dress and US Army troops in Summer/ Tropical Uniform. These uniforms are so similar that painted figures could be used to portray either service. Both services also used Montana peaked campaign hats, but the cords and hat insignia would be different. In the case of the Marines these figures could be used to portray units as early as 1926. By swapping heads with one in an uncovered M1 Helmet these figures could be used for the Guadalcanal landing and the Makin Island raid. Though in the latter case some weapons would also need to be swapped. |
