I'm nuts about WW2 and recently finished the superb books on the battle of Smolensk in 41 by David Glantz. I have books on Stalingrad, Kursk, and Berlin but none on the battle of Moscow. I've been reading about Moscow and it sounds like a fascinating battle story. So naturally I've been looking for one, and I want one that is definitive and well written. Does anybody know the best book? Thanks for any and all answers. |

I have Braithwaite's, Moscow 1941: A City & Its People at War link Sadly, I haven't got around to reading it yet, but it was recommended |

If you like Glantz, have you read David Stahel's books? link |

I have read Stahel's books on Kiev and Operation Typhoon and did not like them. They were hard to follow. He talked less about the actual fighting and more on war crimes and other stuff. Glantz is hands down the best Eastern Front author. |

My favorite is Jack Radey and Charles Sharp's The Defense of Moscow The Northern Flank. Great detail and great writing. |
