A few teaser pics of a game project I'm hoping to pull the trigger on in a few weeks here –
This project has come about after having recently acquired a local WW2 20mm collection, which allows me to mount these new figs onto unit stands (as squad/team bases), while keeping my original 20s still individually-mounted for skirmish gaming. As seen here, the vehicles will remain unmounted. Since the idea is to adapt Bolt Action for quicker, multi-platoon/company based play, and because most of the new minis acquired are for playing Russia 41'-42', I thought I'd call the project 'Blitz Action'. ;)
We'll play the first [play-test] action solely as a tank battle, and if the modded mechanics work ok, I'll feed in the infantry and support weapons for further testing. If all goes well, maybe I'll post the 2-page play sheet here on the forum. Either way, good results or bad, I'll post a short AAR on the tank game being planned……in the least, the game action ought to look pretty good. |

Progress on the multi-figure stands here -
These will be squad or team support units, which will each take a number of damage hits (we'll be using the Pin Markers to show this level of attrition). Having squads reflected by these smaller, individual stands will also bring them closer to the game's ground scale and weapons ranges (so none of the Bolt Action ranges will need modifying while advancing to this level of command). I think the basing gives a good game look, and the round stands nestle nicely into and around terrain (they also fit inside the house models too). |

Havin' some more setup fun (I do like to see how some of the kit looks on-board prior to game day) -
PzKpfw IVs from two manufacturers I got in this recent collection, one's a plastic kit, and two others metal (from who I have no idea). Took a bit to color and weather match their look, but I think they came out pretty close now. |

Nice table and collection. Good luck with your game. |

Thanks Catavar! I hosted the game a couple weeks ago, and it went very well. This weekend we'll feed in some AT Guns and a little infantry to play-test, and see how they work with the rules. Here's the TMP thread reporting on this 1st scenario played, and more on the modified rules used - TMP link |
