Does anybody make these? I think I have seen the Metal models on Ebay, was just hoping there were other options.

Italeri and ICM are plastic kits. Also currently on ebay.
preface your ebay search with 1/72 or 1/76 for a number of choices.

For the SdKfz 222 there are a number of options in plastic. Kits include those from
Airfix (easy build, coupled with a Kubelwagen, and often to be found quite cheap)
First to Fight (very cheap, very easy build))
ICM (probably the most accurate kit)
Dragon

The only Greyhound I know in 20mm is by Italeri

S&S make a Greyhound in resisn

Which looks nice.
The ICM 222 is a lovely kit and the FTF is neat too.

For the Greyhound try Milicast, SHQ or Rapid Fire's Ready to Roll range.

The 222 is available as diescast from Amercom, Atlas & al. And Dragon used to make a model as well, as did Fujimi.

TP Models, Britannia, Extratech also do/used to do the M8 Greyhound.

Wildman28 Dec 2019 9:20 a.m. PST

RAFM make the M8 in their Baker Company range.

yankincan29 Dec 2019 2:22 p.m. PST

Fujimi also do a nice sdkfz. 222 in 1/76.

There is no really good option for the M8 except some cottage industry manufacturers who cast a resin one. They are not bad, but nowhere near the level of the old Italeri model…

Not so for the 222, you have lots of options. I'll cast my vote for the First to Fight one. To give you a visual, here is the one I painted for my early war Germans :

I think I would claim the Millicast is right up there, better than the Italeri kit.

Well, isn't it 1/76 while the italeri is 1/72?

LeonAdler Sponsoring Member of TMP05 Jan 2020 3:02 a.m. PST

Well whether the 1/76 or 1/72 scale difference bothers you is an entireley different discussion 20mm is a movable feast. I was more commenting on what I dedected as a hint that the Millicast wasnt top quality detail wise. 'cottage industry' often seems to be taken as ( often unintentionally ) meaning unproffessional.

In that case, my apologies, Leon. English is not my native language, so I may miss some nuances. Actually, I'm rather of the – opposite – opinion that cottage industry offers us some products we'd be hard pressed to find elsewhere; and for that I am thankful.
