It's not so much that Peter Jackson "screwed up the movie", but that he just isn't a very good movie maker. Visually LOTR is excellent, but the pacing is too slow and there is an over emphasis on character emotions and not enough on good old fashion story telling. It's Jackson's prerogative as director to change the story as he sees fit, but he just made a bad movie. |
