NUTS! Peiper at the Gates is a scenario book for NUTS! covering the actions of small bands of American paratroopers of the 101st Airborne Division and other US infantry units during the Battle of the Bulge, facing the elite SS and Falschimjgaer units of Kampfgruppe Peiper.

NUTS! Peiper at the Gate was the first NUTS! scenario book, published in 2008, written by the fantastic Mr. Darby Eckles. It is ground breaking from a NUTS standpoint since it set the example of how to do a NUTS scenario book and created new rules that added flavor and depth to the game.

It was also playing one of these scenarios that I finally "got" the Chain Reaction system and became a NUTS nut. It's been OOP for a while, but is getting updated and re-released.

Cheers!

Neat!

The battle looks great! Thanks for sharing your report and pics.

Thanks Ed.

Is this the updated version, or the older one?

What's changing for the new edition?

It's the updated one. John put it together so he can tell you in more detail.

Hi, this is an updated version that brings it into line with NUTS 4e.

*Removes redundant and obsolete rules, while keeping some for the scenario -- all the rules previously in PaG are in the main NUTS book or the Compendium

*Updated maps to align with 4e (map grid overlays with zones 1-9 added, etc.)

*Scenario descriptions updated to mesh with 4e including type of Mission, set-up, etc.

*Formatted to support perfect bound printing, and kindle version on Amazon

The plan is to migrate and release prior NUTS scenario books over to this new format. The first one in the new format was Blood Upon the Risers, btw.

Read this today, it's great! Sounds like the game was fun. After years of having NUTS!, I just started playing it because of COVID and quarantine. It's a fantastic system!
