"Miniatures are used in different types of tabletop and miniatures games. Wargaming is one type, but it's also not everyone's cup of tea (or dare we say… blood?). If you're a relative newbie, there are other games that utilize minis, and which don't involve hobby painting, rolling vast amounts of dice and wielding a tape measure to attack…"

Feudal used miniatures but was regarded as a Strategy game rather than a war game.

My brothers and I ignored the game and used the miniatures to play Chainmail, among other rule sets.

So they skipped over Car Wars, Gaslands, various racing games, and just went to board games that involve violence and said they weren't wargames?

I'm with you … how are Zombicide, Wings of Glory (nee Wings of War), X-Wing, Monsterpocalypse, and BattleTech not wargames?

Mansions of Madness isn't, but I would suspect the others with which I am not familiar (the 40K one in particular) are likely wargames.
