The book is available from the Internet Archive (archive.org) for free. Search for "Battle of Long Island"; you'll find the Long Island Historical Society's publication and a number of other works on the same subject; you'll also find a lot that have nothing to do with it but I find that whenever I go there I end up downloading books, reports, manuals, all kinds of stuff I wasn't looking for but just looked interesting.
