Does anyone know if the swiss confederate forces (composed of the militias of the individual cantons) carried individual and distinctive company and regimental colors? I'm asking this because it seems that most contemporary images have them carrying only the flags of their cantons (even in the 18th century, the ones I know are all flags with central crosses and flames in the cantonal colors)

TMP link has some links to flags of Swiss shooter companies. Even these are cantonal flags with the weapon superimposed.

Thank you! Does anyone knows more on the subject?

There are a few other examples on the Dornach picture, including a couple more with a gun on them and a small – almost pennant sized – flag with a couped bear.

Quite a few of the Swiss chronicles show quite a variety of flags for non-Swiss, especially Burgundian and Imperial, and some seem to be company flags. Perhaps the absence of them for the Swiss in these Chronicles is due to them not having them. Perhaps only the shot needed a rallying point – the main cantonal flags being carried in the centre of each block.
