The last few weeks has seen the new Italian Wars Project reach the table for a spot of play testing.

We tried a rule set called Furioso, which we all quite enjoyed. A few tweeks here and there but that's standard practice here at YG ! I think over the years only a couple of sets of rules have survived initial contact with the group.

I have included lots of pics in the blog post as usual plus a text explanation of the rules with some videos coming soon.

Enjoy

Good report and a great looking table. While I have the Furioso rules, I didn't get too excited while reading them, but will probably try them at some point. The Renaissance is a hard period to "do right".

Excellent report. We are looking at our first game of Furioso in the new year so your house rules are very interesting.

@Gamer, what brand are the pikemen in the second picture?

Hi Uesugi, the second picture pike are all Perrys Miniatures a mixture of the ones in the plastic box set and the metal range.

Really well painted figures as usual.
How do you find that Furioso handles really large pike blocks of say 100-200 figures? With the Pike and Shotte rules I have had to add some custom rules to handle anything larger than the usual 24-36 figure blocks.
The rules seem interesting and seem to give a flavor of the Italian Wars.
Based on your write up I have ordered myself a copy. Thanks for the review.

Thanks Martyn,

Our largest on table block was 64 Figures with the majority being 48 and we didn't have any problems. I can't see there being any issues with larger blocks, it just gives you more dice.

Keep an eye out next week for some video run throughs.
