Hi,

After many years away from 40K I am seriously reconsidering getting back into the game given how great some of the new models look.

I am looking at these potential forces:

- Howling Griffon Primaris force – only Primaris forces used

- Blood Angel – either pure Primaris or old school demi-company (2 x Tactical, 1 x Assault, 1 x Devastator plus handful of Death Company and Terminators) plus named characters.

- Black Legion Chaos force with a bit of everything (so Black Legion core + some Berzerkers plus some Plague Marines + some demons)

I would like any force to have a second edition aesthetic to them:

- Infantry focus
- Heavy on the characters
- Lots of variety in troop types
- Smaller numbers of models.
- No specific force design methodology (eg mechanised or assault or shooting).

Looking at 1500 points at the most but mainly hoping to field "allied contingent" as per old school 2nd edition armies.

So my questions:

1. How many characters are you restricted to in the lists?
2. What is minimum number of basic infantry required (used to be called Troops in the old Force Organisations)?
3. How do the detachments/allies work?

Sorry - only verified members can post on the forums.
