What is the best Dungeon Crawl-style game that is playable as a solo game?

Are you looking for a boxed boardgame, or would something in a miniatures ruleset work?

Death Test 1 and 2 from Steve Jackson Games are designed for solo play with their Melee and Wizard games. There's another company called Dark City Games that can use that system or it included their own (very similar to Melee/Wizard). The games are programmed adventures where you have a ton of choices and lots of combat, plus they're fairly inexpensive.

Song of Gold and Darkness has dungeon crawling rulres and works off the Song of Blades and Heroes engine. Admittedly it is for the older edition.

Four Against Darkness is superb, and inexpensive to boot.

Descent is pretty good with the App running the game.

Four Against Darkness is designed exactly for that! Plus it's cheap.

Any of the Dark City Games adventures.

Interestingly enough…their SciFi and Cowboy adventures are just as good.

I didn't know Descent had an app. Thank you for the info!

The app for their (Fantasy a Flight Games) Star Wars equivalent game is awesome, so I'm hoping this is just as good! (Just downloaded the app)
