Not at home. On your miniature table. For the minis. Well … for the scenarios. I am thinking all kinds of food in all the different ways it may be present in a scenario … terrain, objectives, decoration. No food. Generic crops/fields. Specific crops/fields/gardens. Generic crates that could have food. Labeled food crates. Crates with food in them. Food in market stalls. Food on plates. Dude juggling food? Something else? |

Crates or boxes would work fine. |

I"ve got an apple pie cooling on the window ledge of a cabin and some pieces of fruit and vegetables on a table in a cabin. I've also got a garden with cabbages and cauliflowers and a small garden with tomato plants. And a woman carrying apples in a basket. |

My tables usually include furrowed fields where appropriate, and orchards with apples or pomegranates growing on trees.
I've also got a small herd of goats and sheep, which occasionally show up tended by a young shepherd or goatherd, but have more often been used as morale markers.
I've also got a bakery for my NWF games.
And some scatter terrain for the market

There's the colonial mealy bags, very important for Rourke's Drift. Then there are my supply lorries for early WW2, one carrying potatoes, the other water. |

My horse & musket battlefields are usually covered in farm fields and orchards, I have a couple boxes of sheep and cows to spread for cattle scenarios, and I have some ACW-era wagons and pack animals for "supply train" scenarios. Last year I also built about 400 palm trees, most of which serve as coconut plantations in WWII Pacific War scenarios. For all that, I've only once created a scenario where the "food" on the table mattered – I gave the Confederates extra points for capturing/destroying the Union supply wagons in the column they were attacking. Other than that, it's always just been decoration. A few years ago I went on a buying spree and collected a box of pack animals and wagons for supply-raid scenarios, with the intention to make them period-agnostic so I could use them for any time and place from the Dark Ages to 1900. Some distraction got me off that project before it was finished, so it's still a box of parts. - Ix |

crop fields an small orchard that is one of my favorite pieces, that and a couple of enclosed paddocks really transforms a group of houses into a village a group of sheep that i bought on whim that really add to the whole mess. Some day i will do something fun like have them run in the way during a battle but so far they are just scenery |

really like your stuff willthepiper! |

Thanks, General Kirchner! Sheep, and livestock in general, can be the centre of a scenario: capture or protect the flock/herd as it's needed to feed the army. However, I am more likely to use them to replace morale markers. Rather than use plastic chits or little dice as markers, I'll add sheep or goats to a unit. They are less intrusive on the table than a brightly coloured piece of plastic. ;^) |

Love to see some more pics, especially the hanging animals. I was kind of secretly hoping for someone to say a meat locker or even a … um … long pork meat locker for various horror/scifi scenarios. |
