I few years ago we had a major fire and all my paints needed to be replaced. As a result I have a reserve paint box with duplicate colors as well as discontinued paint. When I run out of a color I draw from the reserves. More bottles have been added over the years to insure I have colors that I have used in the past. Do you have a reserve paint box? |

Not a reserve box as such But I do have more than one of most paints somewhere in my collection spread over a large desk, a number of drawers and boxes and trays. |

No. My paint store is just chaos with no thought into the future. If any thing happen the present lot there is no back up. x42 |

I have a reserve but it's not in a box. |

Yes I do. I used to have two complete sets of my main 25 or so colours but since I'm painting less these days I now don't replace a colour in the reserve box when it's been used. I'm still hoarding a OOP dark blue that I particularly like although I suspect there is a Vallejo equivalent. I still have a reserve box of paint colours that I primarily bought for painting aircraft. I also have about ten bright colours that I very rarely use but are useful to have. These also sit in a reserve box. |

Mine holds all the gloss humbrols I bought by mistake thinking they were matt. |

No. I'm not that fussy so would just buy new paint. |

I'm an unrepentant paint junkie. My acrylic mountain is every bit as large as the one made of lead. If you use Vallejo, Reaper, or any brand of paint in the standard size dropper bottles, I recommend this storage box by Art Bin: link It comes in various sizes, and being clear, you can find the color you need quickly. |

Nope. I do, however, know how to mix paints for specific colors I need, when necessary. This allows me to keep my number of paint bottle colors down to a manageable level. Not being "smart" with you, just making a friendly recommendation. Cheers! |

Yes, I have a small reserve of the colours I use the most. Nothing worse than running out when are on painting roll. |

My reserve is at Walmart or Michael's-- either about 10 minutes from home. |

No reserve. I figure if I lost my paints I would probably have lost my figures as well. I would either start over or not at all. |

I have my main paint box and then half a drawer full of extra pots if colours I use the most, or hard to get things like Humbrol Acrylics in the pots which don't dry out. |

Much like Khanscom, my reserves are the game shop and Michael's, each about 10 minutes from home. |

VCarter, Just curious where you keep your reserve, so that in the unlikely event of another fire both sets of paint don't perish? Not joking, serious question. As for me, no reserve. I kinda feel like SyrinxO about it; any disaster that claimed my paints would most likely get my figures as well as they are pretty much co-located. |
