The Germans loved redesigning and repurposing captured vehicles. E.g. they certainly had a lot of French vehicles after the fall in '40 … |

And – as usual – errors all over the place. Leaving out the grammatical errors (no grammar Nazi I), the 47mm gun was in the turret and the 75 was in the hull… |

Must be me, but I can never understand any advantage to reusing captured enemy equipment, unless in huge quantities and better quality than anything you have. Where do you find the parts, which an AFV needs +++? Always thought this about the Germans seizing the French Fleet at Toulon in 1943. What clever special forces we are. We have a few battle ships and cruisers still floating. Right. No crews. We have our own Kriegsmarine to bring in, though. Wir Fahren etc. Ah no. "Right, where is the….where did they store the…how do we start the…..why is this rusted up solid?" Let us say the Bismarck or Tirpitz took 18-24 months before fully fitted out and ready for sea….and that was when they had the design and plans to hand… |

Maybe they used mechanic prisioners of war…? Or civilians/slaves?….
