Clothing shortages were a problem for both sides as the war dragged on. So the rolled shirt sleeves, and also the fancy blanket roll, are quite plausible for mid to late war askari. Late war German askari should rate as elite, but have a somewhat varied and tatty uniforms appearance. Grass and feathers in headgear was not uncommon. |
