Rod Stewart's railway layout had made the news.

Not a military layout, but still rather impressive and rather surprising to me that he built most of it himself.

Very nice to see and read this. I must admit I am very surprised just to the fact it is Rod Stewart. I think I read somewhere that Eric Clapton liked to make model airplanes but I don't really know.

Lemmy from Motorhead liked to do model planes IIRC.

Rod Stewart was on a chat show and they gave him a special edition model loco. He spent the rest of the show looking at it more than the interviewers, just like lots of us would after a new purchase at a show.

The ship looks really good!

Imagine if he was into historical wargaming.

Very impressive! And nice that he builds everything himself. Of course he can afford to buy all the kits and other bits and bobs. But amazing nevertheless. My father was a model railroader so I have a small inkling of what goes into recreating the real world.

If you look closely at the second picture it looks like the cars on the streets run on slots. Now I'd love to see a video of this in action. Respect to Rod.

"Yeah, well, honey … at least I don't have a 1,500 square foot train layout!"

Remember it was Rod Stewart who donated £10,000.00 GBP to the railway club whose layouts were vandalised. Respect indeed.

I head excerpts from an interview/clips fro ma phone in show yesterday, eh reckoned he did 90% of it, but the rest was electrics which he said he was not good at.
