If you were going to buy painted Nap. figures, would you prefer them to be based or would you rather they be loose so that you could base them to your liking? Knowing that there are numerous basing schemes out there, it could potentially be a problem if they are not based to match what a buyer already has in his collection. Thanks for any input.

I would pay less for based figures.

I always rebase purchased painted figures even if done well to the base sizes I use, as I want all my bases to look the same.

Loose and agree with Bill as rebasing can be a pain

Same as all the above.

If I was to buy , I would buy them loose and base them myself . That way your army will always look more uniform and look like an army.

Loose. I am not really concerned about troops white glued to cardboard, but I will frequently pass on well based figures because it is not worth the hassle to rebase them.

Depends. If they are based for a system I use, great. If based for another I might pass if I know how they are attached to the bases. I can soak figures based with PVA, contact cement is another issue

I'd like them on cardboard or something just to reduce damage in transport. I find loose painted 15mm among the most difficult to pack safely.

When I was selling them I would just leave them glued to the popsicle stick that I painted them on.
