Hello All,

In the trade for the WOTR, there are many figurines of longbowmen or English billmen without livery coat, what is it for?

Town and shire levies were not liveried retainers, and so would not have worn livery jackets. The wars were clearly conducted without any regard for the needs of 21st Century miniature warfare.

The wars were clearly conducted without any regard for the needs of 21st Century miniature warfare, yes but the town levies has often been there, there are some examples.

Towns did sometimes provide coats, Paskal. But I wouldn't want to shiver in the cold waiting for one, because they didn't all by any means. And the shires I think were worse.

But how often did the towns and shires provide contingents and how numerous were they?

Better not use billmen or longbowmen figurines without livery coat. Except if they are allies or mercenaries.

Not all liveries were displayed as coats – sometimes you just got a badge or a sash.

Ah ok certainly for shire levy?

Oh dear !: Damn! Damn ! Damn it! How to do? The WOTR "specialists" of this forum have not always told us what were the many English longbowmen or billmen miniatures without a livery coat, which are commercially available for the WOTR?
