First line of dialogue in The Mandalorian. I don't want to spoiler this for anyone as apparently there're some "release quibbles", so I won't write what I was originally planning to. I admit I was kind of stoked/hyped in anticipation of this, albeit as a general SF fan, not specifically a SW fan (I'm VERY specific about my SF in some areas, but not so much SW … I'm one of those weirdos who LOVES the prequels!!! :-)). Plus Pedro Pascal is one of my favourite actors (mainly due to Narcos and Prospect). I was disappointed! Anyone else? A couple of things made me smile, the BHD made me smile, but on the whole, I felt it was bland :-( |

Thank you for telling me you loved the prequels. Not that I do, actually, but especially in short reviews it helps to know whether or not your tastes line up with the reviewer's. |

@Robert: I blame my love of the prequels on my love of the MMPORPG Star Wars Galaxies. Most immersive game I've ever played. Pre-vehicles (pre-mounts, actually) – that's when it was "fun"! And on my weird ability to tune out annoying "things" … |

I liked 'The Phantom Menace' and to a lesser degree 'Attack of the Clones' and 'Return of the Sith'. I prefer them to the sequel films…so far. |

"Look at his glands!" Sounds like a line from the Rick & Morty episode "Morty's Mindblowers"… ;-) |

If that's the first line, it's not a good sign. Here's the first line of the original Star Wars: "Did you hear that? They shut down the main reactor. We'll be destroyed for sure. This is madness." It's not scintillating, but it establishes danger, setting, and character (C3PO is nervous, pessimistic, and overly talkative). You're in the story, and it's moving quickly. From "Look at his glands," I get nothing but the impression that what follows is gonna be stupid… But one line isn't enough to scrap the whole. When it comes out on DVD/Blu-ray, and my library acquires it, I'll give it a view. Because I'm a Star Wars fan, and thus eventually lured in. But not enough to spend my own money (which is also a bad sign). |

Episode 2 just dropped … in what seems to be a very weird release schedule … not really sure I want to go back to weekly shows? I've loved the NF/HBO FS dumps so far. |

OK … 2nd episode … short! Really, like 25-27 mins? But so good! Almost created like a fan fic. But with higher production values. The CGI (although sparse) is very well done. I expect Corridor Digital to do a synopsis of this soon! Yodling? OMFG! The Jawas! OMFG! Really good! |

Wife and I are really enjoying the Mandalorian! Has the gritty feel of a true space opera/western. |

Verizon Wireless gave me a free year of Disney+ since I subscribe to unlimited data. First stop was The Mandalorian. So far, I've really enjoyed it! Kind of sad the episodes are only a half-hour, in fact. I won't drop any spoilers, but I will say that it has the same "wild frontier" vibe to it that I felt from Mos Eisley in ANH. The writing and direction are *so* much better than either the prequels or Rian Johnson's sequels. I'm definitely looking forward to the rest of the season. I have spoken. |

The prequels were excellent at world building (something the originals and sequels have almost nothing of) The prequels got ruined by bad acting and bad writing (plus the attempt at making them even more kid friendly) but actually seeing the star wars universe proper was great, not just running in corridors and explosions. If they'd actually made Anikans fall to the dark side logical and you know actually make sense. That would have helped. The fact is the movie universe of star wars is very shallow and uninteresting for the most part. The good stuff is in the games (especially knights of the old republic) and the clone wars series. |

I dunno, I found the star wars world up until 1983 completely satisfying. |
