I probably scroll past 3/4 Of his posts but do look at subjects that I like and even a occasionally something odd I might never look at. |

I don't like seeing folks get bullied and, while there are arguments to be made on the "anti-tango" side, there's a fair amount of bullying of a fellow hobbyist (and veteran) here as well.
Tell you what, if Tango01 is pressured or forced to stop, don't be surprised if there is a Tango02 or 03 or 04 who is very active all of a sudden. |

lyoydthegamer DA THB, why can't the anti-Tango crowd just accept that some people like his posts and stop harassing him? I don't believe that we are harassing him. We are trying to have a polite discussion on options. No-one is trying to stop you from reading his posts as that would be unaffected. Your theory about who likes Tango is interesting. I don't buy it a bit. If the new people are staying because they like his posts then it sounds like he is a positive influence on TMP. If new people are staying because of him that is a good thing, right? Or is TMP only for the old and moldy, like me (first TMP visit in 2003)? Well like I said I "had" been thinking of a theory but proved myself wrong on a quick straw poll. You could be correct that TMP is stronger for Tango being here. The problem I see is its mainly badly labeled links to Lego, scantily clad women and other strange theories taken from weird sites. Some bloggers have complained that he is stealing their I.P but I suppose others are happy for the advertising. SO I guess that if the direction does not suit some then we are free to leave. I believe my first visits were in 2004 and I signed up a bit later. |

magical monstrous steve. Perhaps if we were allowed to have a polite discussion, and the Pro side stops raising the temperature. To which the anti side responds with the whys and wherefores which then gets into a bit of nasty comments back and forth then it would not come across as bullying. |

Multiple threads attacking one member of the community is bullying.
Earlier in this thread, I asked if these conversations could be framed in a way that wasn't going after one person specifically (i.e. max topics per day per person). The answer from the anti tango side was a flat no. This is bullying and I won't countenance it. |

Indeed yes!  You mean the Napoleonic posts should go on the Napoleonic boards, the modern items on the modern boards, the WWII stuff on the WWII boards? That's an amazing scheme – it's really lucky that the boards are set up a to support such an innovative approach. It's almost like it was planned to be that way….  |

There are two approaches one could take to the perceived problem of a lack of content creator diversity on TMP:
1. Attack the person responsible for making a significant percentage of the current content.
2. Post more content yourself. Why not create posts that your fellow hobbyists can enjoy and make the comminuty more vibrant rather than complaining about those who do currently? |

There has several purges were many active and good posters got bootet. Yes and sadly much of the wheat was thrown out with the chaff. But the clean up of the "chaff" has made TMP a little more civil and "peaceful". There was far too much vitriol, derisiveness, etc., spewed out by some of those that are now gone. Especially for a site that is primarily about playing with toys … I was locked out twice, but was allowed to return. Thanks to some positive comments, etc., in my favor to Bill. Admittedly I am no Angel though …  And like Tango I had/have my detractors … |

Seems to me the anti-Tango crowd is just (weirdly) triggered by his enthusiasm for all aspects of the hobby. Seriously, TMP without Tango would be a lesser TMP, IMHO. |

I said this in the other thread. It would be helpful on the forums page to show WHO started a thread and the last person to POST to it. I can pick and choose on the main page, but once in a forum, I only see the topic and dates. Usually I can simply ignore topics that end in (. . .) as this is click-bait to a linked article. But it would help to select posts based on the contributor and commenters. |
