As the title suggests, what is the best book that has been written on this event?

The osprey campaign is good, not a huge amount available tbh

I am currently reading "The enemy at the gate" which covers the siege of Vienna. So far I'm really enjoying it.

I had zero knowledge of the period and enjoyed Enemy at the Gate too

Another book on the subject: "The Siege of Vienna", by John Stoye.New Edition, 2000 (originally published in 1964).

I thought Enemy at the Gate was more engaging, but Stoye gave more detail.

I must seek out Enemy at the Gate. Stoye's is the only book I have on the subject. Thanks for recommendation.

On the Field of Glory by Sienkiewicz is a novel that deals with some of the story. It was intended to be a trilogy, but the author never finished the next book before he passed away. It is told from a Polish perspective and pretty much lionizes Sobieski.
