Ok, so not exactly 6mm, but still a smaller scale. Here is an update on my painting progress for my Double-Blind, 3mm Eastern Front Project. Enjoy!

It is unlikely that I will adopt a new scale for my wargaming, as I have so much invested in my 6mm armies, and so little time left to devote to actual hobby interests.

But if …

If I were to switch from rules that are 1-to-1 unit scales (1 minitature = 1 vehicle, 1 stand = 1 squad), and to go to rules that were at some higher 1-to-several level (most like 1-to-platoon), then THIS is the way I'd want to do it.

I just can't get into having one tank on the game table, and saying it is a platoon of tanks.

I can see the rules for multi-battalion actions abstracting the individual vehicle into platoons that move and fight as one. Or even companies that move and fight as one. And towns that are basically blocks of "built up area" rather than buildings on streets. I have been satisfied with that approach for board gaming. But board games, while appealing to my intellect, are not as appealing to my imagination as miniatures gaming.

I can't see doing miniatures without putting on the table some visual simile of the number of vehicles I am seeking to represent. It would just turn off my imagination like a light switch. Not that I object to anyone else seeing things their own way, but nope, not for me. For me, if the rules say it behaves like a platoon of tanks, I want it to look like a platoon of tanks. I can see being a bit representative … tell me it is a 17 tank company when I only see 10 or 12 miniatures on the stands and I can probably go with it. I just need to be able to see a swirling mass when a battalion deploys, even if it is from a zoomed-out and non-exact perspective (vs. my 1-to-1 gaming).

So I give a thumbs-up to JozisTM and how he has done it. Looks very playable, and also very engaging to my imagination.
