Hello All, I was wondering if there is somewhere that specializes in selling the original artwork of Mcbride? Also, as McBride painted all of these for Osprey, what became of the originals? Were they sold or is there some vast horde some where? Thank you |

Usually, original artwork is the property of the publisher. So you want to contact Swprey and inquire about specific pieces. If you do this, let us know what they respond. |

I believe Osprey returned the originals to McBride but kept the reproduction rights. |

If you look at the inside of the Osprey books (at least some of the older ones), you are able to purchase artwork from them. |

At least since the 1990s, all Osprey books contain an "Artist's Note" that the original paintings used for the color plates are available for sale directly from the artist but that all copyright and reproduction rights for them is retained by the publishers. They usually have an address for contacting the artist, and a disclaimer along the lines of: "The publishers regret that they can enter into no correspondence upon this matter." |
