The bug has messed my last post, so here goes again!

I am starting to do my American Revolution / AWI Continental army, and am still not too happy with the figure I got for George Washington.
Does anyone sell a (preferably mounted) model I could use?

Many thanks in advance!!!

I don't game AMR in 15mm, but I do have some 15mm Old Glory ACW figures. They are well sculpted.

Not a fan of the Peter Pig cocked hats, as to me, they look nothing like the correct period cocked hat (and I own about 8 of the recreated ones).

What figures are you using?

Hi there! Thanks for the speedy replies! I have mostly Lancashire Games figures. I have Essex cavalry and guns.

Are the Polly Oliver figures compatible in size to these?

I believe they are indeed.

You really don't need a specific sculpt of Washington per se. He wore a standard Continental uniform, whose specific details would be far too small to pick up in 15mm. He work a black hat, no metal lace, buff small clothes, with a blue ribbon under his coat. Not sure whether he wore that all the time or not. He rode both brown (Nelson) and grey (aka white – Blueskin) horses, though I have read he favored Nelson. He wore two epaulets of gold, gold buttons too. His hair may, or may not be powdered (I believe he was a redhead, though he was likely graying).

Thanks historygamer, that info is very useful, I have not come across most of it before- especially the horse details!
I have ordered the Polly Oliver figures.

Many thanks again for all the helpful replies!

My own take is that for a command stand such as Washington (I'm creating a second on myself), you make that figure the center of attention. Maybe an aide de camp or two, focusing on the General, who is front and center of the stand. Good luck to you. :-)

By way of bragging, I have had the honor to ride a number of times now at Mount Vernon, including on George's bowling green lawn. Ssssshhh – I do so as a redcoat and suspect George might not be too happy about that – even though he did try to join both the Royal Navy as a teenager, and the British Army as a twenty-something year old. :-)

Thanks Mark, I am happy I ordered the Polly Oliver figures!
I wasn't aware they had been brought out again! They were as hard to find as a hen's teeth not too long ago!
And thanks again historygamer, I am envious of you having all that AR/AWI history on your doorstep!

If you can get a hold of the American mounted command pack from the old 'Washington's War' line by Jeff Valent, there's a mounted figure that works perfectly.

Yay! Stone Mountain officers! Haven't seen them for a few years. My 15mm AWI were all Stone Mountain and very nice they were too.
