A natural enemy for the Libyans I posted previously and a consistent supplier of archery to Egypt's New Kingdom pharaohs. Here is my 15mm DBA take on the armies of ancient Nubia.

The army is mostly archers. The figures are mostly the Chariot range fom Magister Militum. The flesh tones are done in oils (which works for me although I know a lot of fellow enthusiasts don't like the slow drying time wink)

More on Book I list 3 Nubian

Or have a browse at the other galleries: DBA Armies

Thanks for having a look

I have a Nubian army with all Psiloi to be a matched pair against an Old Kingdom Egyptian army.

It is a surprisingly equal match.

Cheers,

Yes true, John G, psiloi in DBA3 have quirks that make them not necessarily a pushover. Am getting an Attalid Pergamene army ready, which is also psiloi loaded.

Phil, your site has been a great inspiration on how to get a really irregular look by mixing a great variety of figs. Thanks for another great post!

Thank you all for such positive comments. You know if you keep up the nice reponses I will only keep on posting pictures!

Seriously though, I have an extensive collection of part-baked DBM and Armati projects (plus, surprise, surprise, the odd complete army) which I am currently restoring/reorganising/rephotographing (some or all of those depending on the state the figures are in) into tidied up, boxed and catalogued DBA and ADLG armies. Some Dark Age stuff next …

I did make something like a domestic 'agreement' that I'd get all this stuff sorted by Christmas wink (I remembered to use the word try) … that's clearly not going to happen but I still reckon I'll do a lot.

But they all need playing as well …

Happy days!
