Interestingly, the ships based on the same design serving in the Thai and Oman Navies have OTO 76mm guns. The RN ships will be used to enforce the UK's territorial waters after Brexit … if it ever happens.

Not exactly. It's a bow-wave-reducing "clown nose", improves speed and fuel economy by reducing how much energy gets used pushing water out of the way.
