"This unit was formed in 1810, under the command of Colonel D. Juan Malat, with two squadrons of three companies each of 71 men and 60 horses. The hearts, helmets and weapons were captured by the Numancia Dragon Regiment to the 3rd Provisional Regiment of Coraceros in the battle of Mollet.

"The appearance of the Spanish Coraceros was accidental and in fact testimonial.
