Lots of help from the Russians, I suspect. I'm quite sure it's the Chinese. It resembles the FC-31 based on stolen plans of the F-35, which the Chinese decided not to put into mass production either for domestic use or export. The Chinese also has a history of collaborating with the Pakistanis on fighter aircraft development in the JF-17 Thunder (a cross between an F-5 and MiG-21). Pakistan is one of China's largest arms customers. OTOH the Russkies would tread carefully when dealing with Pakistan because they sell a lot of arms to India. |
