I've done a good amount of wargaming in WWII, Modern, and Sci-Fi, but I'm finally getting around to some older historical forces. I've completed the first infantry regiment for the Duchy of Warsaw here.

My favorite piece is the divisional general, which I painted as Poniatowski and his aide de camp (in the light blue).

Nice. What did you base for with 5 stands per battalion?

Teppsta my guess is the skirmisher bases out front are the Voltigeur companies , making 6 bases per Battalion .

which makes me wonder why there are 4 skirmisher bases .

also that seems like a lot of artillery for a regiment , and what are the Lancers doing there ?

unless of course they're part of a larger force and not meant to be part of this regiment.

very nice work , and i always love seeing Poniatowski Leading the Poles !

My basing is for Black Powder (each base would count as 4 28mm figures), but I planned to keep them flexible. I could mount a trio of bases onto a 60x30/60x60 sabot and play just about any game out there.

ernieR is correct, the intention is to have 6 bases, each representing one company. I've currently got 6 Voltigeur companies painted, I just need to get to the other battalions I need to paint. I have 3 more to do before I run out of flag bearers, then I may get an additional order to bring it up to 10 battalions, or maybe even 18!

The same situation is going on with the uhlans. I have another two regiments to complete, then I'll have a proper brigade. Not sure if I like having just 5 bases to a regiment, so I'll have to see there.

And yes, that artillery is everything I have for the entire army. I don't expect to see all 4 batteries on the field unless I get up to two or three infantry brigades.
