I saw a discussion thread some time ago and there was mention of using a specific type of medium for thinning acrylics. Does that mean I've been doing it wrong all these years using water? Does anyone know what this medium is and if would it be superior to water and why? |

Diluting with a bit of water is fine, but as you add more the acrylic apparently loses some of its adherence and it flows differently. This is mostly an issue with artists' acrylics which are much thicker and usually need thinning. |

If you use GW/Coat d'Arms/Reaper etc. paints, water is just fine. |

Water is the first stop. Tap water may not be the best is some locations. If the paint needs help, consider Future Floor Finish: THE COMPLETE FUTURE link This comes up from time to time: TMP link TMP link Now a days called: "SC Johnson Pledge Floor Care Multi-Surface Finish by Pledge" or "Pledge 11182 Revive It Floor Gloss Clear Transparent Liquid" It is a function of the country you are in. |
