…. And they do some serious work "This week, President Donald Trump shared a declassified photo of a military working dog that was injured during the weekend raid that took down ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi in Syria. Although details about the K-9 aren't public -- the Pentagon has said the dog's name needs to remain classified due to their affiliation with a classified unit -- it's a welcome reminder that military working dogs are an important and ever-present thread throughout America's military history…." Inasmuch as dogs have been hunting with us since well before recorded history, it's likely that they've been in the military since long before 600 BC. |

Just like horses were used in the military for centuries. Both horses and K-9s took many losses. As I have said many times … I like dogs better than people. The last count I had read and I'm sure it had increased, that in A'stan, 86 K-9s had died. |

+1 to Legion 4 Dogs are very smart, but simple. They do have one flaw though: they love humans more than the love themselves. We should thank God for that. To be honest, I can't tell you how many times that I've thought that my own guardian angels do not have wings and they live with me every day. I'm one of those people who lets his baby sleep with him. I don't know if she's purebred or mixed, but she looks like either a German Shepherd or a Belgian Malinois and all 75 lbs. of her sleeps next to me in the bed every night. |

So Very true, my dog sleeps on the bed and does everything with me she can. They really are better than people. Too bad they have to go in harms way in dangerous places with the Military and LEOs. But they have proved themselves many times over. I hope robotic "dogs"/machines will replace them in those functions. In the future. |
