I see that I have been neglecting my older figures lately, I've had the new figures on the tabletop! |

Damn! I missed this poll … I think I'm probably in the 17% with 41-45 years … would that tally with Airfix's 2nd Gen Afrika Korps? |

What? No 1st Gen Airfix DAK? Hehe. I used my old Airfix ACW Confederates last year. They are three to a 1" square base for Fine n Furry. I was too poor to buy metal 15mm figs back then but remembered I had 400 plastic ones. I mixed in other manufacturers plastics as well. I still love the game but don't play it often. Have fun. |

Some old Stone Mountain ACW 15's I've had since late '80's. |

Oh. They were bought in 1970. The first ones still have fire engine red slouch hats. I am not going to repaint those. They may be the first I ever painted before I reached double figures. |

Oldest to appear in a game in 2018 were a half-dozen Scruby mounted officers used as command figures. Purchased and painted in 1966… |

You know, I think what we established with the "oldest miniatures" and "oldest rules" polls are that our first miniatures and our first rules tend to stay with us--and maybe that classic rules don't go away. Interesting, but I'd still like to get an insight into the normal lifespans of figures and rules. |

My circa. '77/78 figures are at present being lined up for a game in a couple of weeks time (25mm Hinchliffe Ancients). I have some older Napoleonics of the same ilk but they never see the light of day any more. Some of my Ros Heroics 6mm Napoleonics are of a the same vintage and get a fair amount of use. |

Oldest figures in use now are some Airfix Robin Hood (recently repainted and based)and Sheriff of Nottingham figs that were acquired about 50 yrs. ago. Fighting in a couple of SAGA games they've acquitted themselves well |

In 1977 I started buying 15mm Heritage Napoleonettes, then a year later I began collecting 15mm Heritage Confederettes. They still form a large part of my collection. |
