Which book on the Battle of Okinawa is the definitive/ best written?I want to get a book on the battle but don't know where to begin since there are quite a few, including two that will be released next March. |

I realize that as time passes, sources and opinions can become more informed. But I read the book "Tennozan: The Battle of Okinawa and the Atomic Bomb" by George Feifer almost twenty years ago, and it held a strong emotional impact for me. |

The official Army Green book, Okinawa: The last battle by Roy Appleman is supposed to be very good. |

I recently finished The Ultimate Battle: Okinawa 1945--The Last Epic Struggle of World War II by Bill Sloan. It gave me a good understanding of the battle itself and was interspersed with personal stories. Exactly what I was looking for. Steve |
