Looks beautiful! My dad fought at the La Fiere battle as a glider infantryman in the 82nd Airborne, and our family visited Normandy in 1973 and toured the area. In 1944, the Merderet river had been dammed by the Germans and the area was heavily flooded – thus the "causeway" leading from the manor-side all the way up to the opposite heights and to the church at Cauquiny. My father on the left, taken after the battle at the church –
