Hi all, I've finally succumbed to 28mm after eyeing up the Warlord games Wars of Religion infantry for a few years now. I'm a huge Great Siege of Malta nerd, so I'd like to build up a small force to represent the defenders of St. Elmo. Due to the nature of siege warfare there isn't a need for formations so all figs will be based on individual washers. I've had enough of formation gaming with Nappys. Does anyone know of any skirmish rules that might be of use for portraying siege warfare in that period? Pikeman's Lament might be an option, although it doesn't seem to be very sword-fight-heavy. |

My gaming group uses Pikeman's Lament it's a good set of rules that play fast and doesn't bog down. |

You want to game a siege with skirmish rules? or sorties and raids? |

There's a free siege supplement for Lion Rampant available, and as LR is essentially the same set of rules it should translate easily to TPL. Personally though, I think assaults and sorties in a siege context demand a more individualised approach than the unit-based mechanics of the LR stable. After all, wouldn't you want to be able to laud and record the heroic actions of particular soldiers? If so, maybe a variant of TSATF or some such would be more suited to your needs. |
