Has anyone had success using an alternative brush on white primer for GW's Contrast Paints and if so could you post a photo or link to an example of your success?

I have experimented with a number of undercoats. White, gray, tan etc. They all worked fine.

Best way to figure it out is just experiment on some throw away figures.

Would various shades of white and off-white gesso work? I'm not that big a fan of gesso over spray primer as the adherence to the figure surface is not as strong. But it is brush on.
