In 10mm I am hopeful of being able to create several divisions of the 1812 Grande Armee. With 2 to 5 battalions per regiment this equates to more than I can comfortably count using fingers and toes. What are the possible Voltigeur variations? What were the most common and the most unique? Any assistance greatfully received. |

My short hand: combinations of green and yellow for ligne voltigeurs, use red, green and yellow for legere. |

In 10mm it's easy, you're more interested in just the plumes. Flashman is spot on. It helps sometime to do them all the same if only to distinguish one battalion from another. |

Some of us may have information about specific regiments that went into Russia – probably not the 1812 period. However, we frequently debate which units may have worn the long-tailed cut-away "habit" into Russia, with possibly 1810 plumes. Do you have specific units of us to comment upon? Probably the most common would be green plume tipped yellow, for line and leger alike. You won't find the unique 2eme leger of the early period with all center and voltigeur companies having tall plumes top-half scarlet, lower half green or yellow. Carabiniers with bearskin, solid scarlet plume. GdeP |
