Yeah, that's not a very big Russian Army in Flames. 5x KVs, looks like 12x T34s (why 12? a full company is 10), 3x Infantry companies, and a short battery of Katyushas. My Engineer-Sapper Battalion has more infantry and 20x T34s, plus a full 'Red God of War' artillery battery (8x76mm and 4x122mm), and a Spetsnaz platoon to drag one infantry company closer to the enemy. |

Yeah, that's not a very big Russian Army in Flames. Can't speak for Flames, as I have never been more than a spectator to that particular sport… LOL you should see my Russian 6mm tank brigade at 1 to 1 Ah yes, now we are talking my league. My WW2 Russian Army has 6 battalions of T-34s (at 1-to-1), a regiment of IS-2s, of KVs, of JSU-152s, of SU-152s, of SU-85s, and of SU-100s. Multiple batteries of ZiS-3 76.2mm guns, M1939 76.2mm guns, ZiS-2 57mm AT guns, M1932/M1942 45mm AT guns, BM-8 and BM-13 Katyushas, M-30 (M1938) 122mm howitzers, A-19 122mm Guns, M-10 (M1938) 152mm Howitzers, M1937 37mm AA guns, along with the odd companies of IS-3s, KV-85s, KV-2s, BA-10s, BA-20s, T-26s, BT-7s, Cavalry, and a couple battalions of infantry (at stand = squad level basing). Plus air support, of course, in the form of P-39s, Yak-1s, La-5s, IL-2s, Pe-2s, TB-3s (yes, old monsters that they are), a Pe-8 and even a Po-2. And at that I've probably forgotten to mention maybe a third of the force. The startling part, though, is how much more there is in my "to-be-painted" box. And how much more I long to buy. And to kit-bash where I can't buy it (I mean, I can't find any vendor for SU-12s at my scale, but I SURE know how to make a couple if/when I get to it). So while I do agree with the OP ("Very nice!"), I don't exactly "feel" the thread topic ("Huge Soviet WW2 Army…"). -Mark (aka: Mk 1) |

Flames is 1:1 models at reinforced-company to battalion per player for the non-horde armies, and reinforced-battalion to Regiment for the hordes (Russians, some Italians, Romanians(IIRC)). One guy in the local group really likes his Soviet infantry Regiment. |
