"Propablly just fight against the Ottomans. The real difference would be after WW1 ended. If Persia got promised new lands after something like Treaty of Sevres, the new Turkish republic would have a hard time. In OT turks managed to push back greeks and armenians and secure land. However, if Persia was on their side, it's possible turks would be pushed back from Eastern Anatolia by Persian and Armenian armies, thus Armenia would get the land it was promised and Iran would get lands in Iraq and Turkey or a vassal Kurdistan. With Turks having to figh another enemy (Persia), it is possible they would break and greeks would push them out of Eastern Thrace and Smyrna, thus leaving the turks out of most of mainland Europe (Constantinople would likely remain ottoman, as it would be hard for Greece to keep it under control). In the end, while propablly not changing that much on the world stage, Persia fighing alongside the Entente would completelly change Middle Eastern borders. Maybe, if turkish armies got completelly decimated, something akin to Fascism would rise. Also Qajar dynasty migh not have been overthrown as one of Reza Khan's main reasons for the coup was to push Persia out of the one-sided oil deal with the brits. If the brits leave Persia on good terms, Qajar dynasty migh rule Persia for some more time, maybe even until modern day. Depending on how fast Ottomans are defeated, Saudi Arabia migh not even take over Arabia as the brits were in negotiations with Hejaz arabs to fight against Ottomans for a united Arabia. If Persia drives out Ottomans out of Iraq alone, Sykes-Picot agreement might not be signed and instead we'd see a united Arabian State in The Middle East…." Main page link Amicalement Armand |
