The latest instalment of the ECW Travelogue looks at houses of interest in Staffordshire. Although, it seem to have inadvertently started a Charles 2 mini-series in a series. Charles's flight after defeat at the battle of Worcester would make a cracking good film or miniseries. it wouldn't really need the Hollywood 'sexing it up' treatment as the story of his escape is the stuff of gripping yarns. Swashes get buckled, glamourous assistant (and possible love interest),hiding in haylofts, bad guys* trying to thwart the hero at every opportunity, and a big fancy tree. link
*of course, depending upon your persuasion the 'bad guys' might not necessarily be 'bad'. |

Great stuff. Thanks for taking the trouble. Oh, and by 1651, they were bad. |

The bad guy was in the tree. Just saying. |

The bad guy (Cromwell) would never have been able to get up the tree in the first place! |
