"Europe has been largely peaceful since the end of World War II. The shock of that conflict was simply too great. But with memories of the violence now fading and nationalism on the rise, it is far from certain that peace will remain the status quo. Now, this Europe finds itself in crisis. It is no longer the Europe where national thinking is slowly dwindling. It is no longer the Europe that is growing together step by step. It is no longer the Europe in which all countries seem to be committed to democracy forever. The direction of European history would seem to have changed – shifting away from convergence and back to delineation…" Main page link Amicalement Armand

It's not going to be possible for very long, at least for the old-NATO nations, they don't have enough troops to last more than a month or so! The New NATO/former WARPAC have much more respectable military force levels. But to completely deny the possibility is willful blindness of the worst kind. |

Some, like the Germans, also have few tanks, and IIRC from news reports, their military rifles don't even work correctly, either. |

Civil war mess, colapse of states, yes. Organized war state vs state, mercyfully unlikely. Besides we barely have armies and even less amunition. Or to emulate our southern neighbours still few machettes etc. |

Well in 2008 Russia attacked Georgia, that was a war in Europe. There is still a war going on between Russia and Ukraine. Or Russia denies being involved in that war, but the separationists are very well equipped and supported by Russia. Kosovo and Serbia are not the best of friends (although I would say a war is not very likely but still could happen) Turkey is at war in Syria but they want to become a member of the European Union so Turkey could then technically be said to part of Europe. |

With higher population densities than in the past, it's going to be more urban warfare in/around cities than on battlefields… |
